Blueberry Muffin Fun and Yummm!
We are having a blast baking together and laughing the day away. Is there a better way?
Today we made Blueberry Muffins!
Here are the ingredients you will need:
1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsps baking powder
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1/3 cup of milk
1 cup blueberries
For the Topping:
1/3 cup of brown sugar
1/8 cup flour
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp butter
Preheat your oven to 400 F. Bakes for about 20-25min.
For recipes that are longer to make, we recommend having all the ingredients ready to go. This way your child is entertained the whole time and not waiting on you to dig our flour from the cabinet. As they get older, read the recipe together and let them take the lead on measuring and gathering.
Here we go!
Add all the dry ingredients together and mix.
Next add the vegetable oil and egg to a measuring cup. Add milk to fill it to the 1 cup line.
It's always good to have an extra eye on the measure!
Next, add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. And Mix!
Did I mention you can use fresh or frozen blueberries in this recipe? Yeah, I didn't tell the kids either. Their faces and laughter lit up my day!
Fold in the blueberries into the batter, or you know, let someone else do all the work while you drink the extra milk!
Scoop batter into greased muffin tin using an ice cream scoop. It is fun and less messy!
Next, add the topping!
Add all the topping ingredients into the bowl and mix with a fork. It will look like this when finished.
Add on top of the muffins and bake for about 20-25 mins.
Enjoy your yummy muffins!! We seriously almost ate them all before I remembered to grab a photo!
